鬼若丸とは後の武蔵坊弁慶で、鬼若丸のその出生は凄まじく、母の胎内に十八ヶ月もいたそうで、生まれた時には普通の子の三倍もあったらしいです。 父はこれは鬼子だとして殺そうとしましたが、叔母に引き取られて鬼若と命名され京都で育てられました。しかしすぐに比叡山延暦寺に預けられ、ある時、身の丈八尺もある鯉が子供や女ににいたずらをし比叡山横川の池で大暴れしていました。 それを聞いた鬼若丸は短刀ひとつ携えて池に飛び込み激闘の末に見事に鯉を退治したと言う。 この場面はそのおばけ鯉をやっつける前です。 【artist】Tsukioka Yoshitoshi 【title】Oniwaka observing the giant carp in the pool, from The new forms of the thirty-six ghosts 【date】Meiji,1889 【style】woodblock print 【condition】good 【story】 This print is a scene of fighting a monster carp.
